Active membership is limited to persons who are representatives of national business or industrial organizations and who qualify under the following provisions of the Bylaws governing membership:
(1) Member shall be the top-ranking representative of his or her employer designated by the chief executive officer or executive officer of such employer to be the Washington representative of the employer for overall government relations purposes.
(2) Member shall be the policy spokesperson for his or her employer authorized to articulate the employer’s policies on governmental affairs and to ascertain and convey to the employer information on the governmental policies which may affect the employer’s business.
(3) Member shall be possessed of such qualifications as will enable contribution to and aid in carrying out the purposes of the corporation.
(4) Sponsors must bring applicants to at least two Business-Government Relations Council functions before the application will be considered.
Members who retire or change employment and are no longer qualified for regular active membership are eligible to continue affiliation with the Council as emeritus members.
Membership Qualifications and Expectations
B-GRC is a non-profit organization for executives who are recognized as the chief government affairs executives for their companies in Washington, D.C. This allows members to exchange valuable information and perspective with their corporate peers. Prospective B-GRC members must attend at least two B-GRC functions before becoming a member and have their membership application supported by two current members. B-GRC is supported by annual membership dues and a one-time initiation fee. Members are strongly encouraged to attend B-GRC functions and support ongoing membership recruitment efforts.
